There are so many beautiful religions in the world: so many good-hearted men and women who do good things and worship their gods in the time-honored ways of their people.
Why follow this particular “world religion?”
As we say in our community, there have been many founders of many religions – and we recognize them with respect.
They died; and dead they remain.
There is only one founder of any religion who died and came back again.
Jesus Christ.
“Other religions found everywhere try to counter the restlessness of the human heart, each in its own manner… The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life… [which] often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ 'the way, the truth, and the life' (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself.” (Paul VI, Nostra Aetate, n. 2)

On a personal note – books on the topic which I have found helpful
- The Case for Jesus, Dr. Brant Pitre (on whether Jesus really existed and whether He really claimed to be God)
- The Everlasting Man, G.K. Chesterton (on the difference between Christ and other founders and between Christianity and other religions)
